One of the essential elements of the brief for the Invercargill Airport website, was to have a visually interesting site that stood apart from the usual bland websites that regional airports tended toward. They wanted something that blended the excitement of travel with the iconic destinations and events that make up Invercargill and the wider Southland region.
In researching travel and destination marketing we were attracted to vintage and retro posters from the 1930’s to the 1960’s that promoted oceans liners, air travel and especially the London Underground. Using that style we created images for the Bluff signpost, the water tower, Mitre Peak and Burt Munro – each framed like a view from an aircraft window.
